Stash Buster Events   

If you talk to any sewer or quilted, you will soon find out that everyone has a stash of quilting fabrics stored away safely, just waiting for that perfect project.  Have you ever noticed how those fabrics become "old and dated"?  Newer fabrics are on the store shelves and you add more little bits and pieces of lovely fabric to your stash and it keeps growing and growing.  No Worries!  We're here to help!!!!  

Join us at Needleworks on the last Friday evening of the month for a time of stash busting. Each month we'll have a quilt project (crib-lap quilt size).  You'll be given a list of supplies to bring from your stash.  You maybe asked to do a bit of cutting and/or sewing before you come, but most of the time....just come with your stash and we'll work in the classroom.  We'll grow our stash selection by sharing with one another.  Your 4-6 pieces of fabric can easily grow to 12-24 different fabrics....for greater variety.

Each project will be a different quilt block that will use up a variety of quilting fabrics....the only request is that it be 100% cotton.

The first project will be a version of "delectable mountains".  We're calling this quilt....."Winter Ice" This project uses fabrics in light and dark values....Each participant will be asked to bring 0.25 meter each of 4 lights (white, very light blue, no cream) and 4 darks (dark blue, navy/grey).  The more people who participate, the greater the variety......

Don't think you need another quilt top?...join us to learn a few new techniques and sew up a quilt back or a charity quilt.
